Nisus ships NWP 1.3

Nisus has added a new document manager and other new features to its word processor in Nisus Writer Pro 1.3. The document manager can now manage any file located on internal or external drives. Users can create file groups or use predefined smart groups. Version 1.3 also adds a style library, a selection history, menus that convert to toolbars and an advanced search that utilizes Apple's Spotlight technology. Automatic character, word and paragraph counts are new, along with an option for automatic capitalization of the first words in each sentence.

The company also noted that version 1.3 has support for Mail and Entourage, allowing the active document to be attached to a new email message from within the software. Other new features include triple-clicks support for selecting sentences and quadruple-click support for paragraph selection. Some smaller enhancements include additions to the Nisus Macro Language and bugfixes.

Nisus Writer software has advanced word processing features like comments, indexing, bookmarks, widow and orphan control and Text Wrap around images. It also has educational and research features like table of contents, cross-referencing and footnoting.

Nisus Writer Pro 1.3 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher. The word processing software is going on sale from now until July 6 in celebration of Independence Day. During the sale, the price for various licenses will be 20-percent off. The full version, regularly $80, will be $64 and the three-license family pack, regularly $100, will be $80. The sale price requires use of the code "fourthofjuly" and the discount will be shown in the shopping cart.
