Image leaks show Nikon D3000, D300s

Nikon D3000 D300s

Image leaks appear to corroborate reports of Nikon's upcoming D3000 and D300s DSLRs. The D3000 is expected to be a scaled-down version of the company's D5000, with a smaller body and lacking a swivel LCD display. An alleged image posted on LensTip shows a shorter stature and reduced-size flash components, potentially indicating a smaller viewfinder. The device also omits a microphone, while the smaller cover for ports suggests an HDMI connection is also missing.

Supposed images of the D300s, posted on Nikon Rumors, appear to closely match the current D300 but with a microphone. If authentic, the photo adds evidence to earlier claims that Nikon is readying an upgrade to the D300. Rumors suggest the DSLR may integrate 720p video recording, an SD storage option, quiet shutter mode, and the ability to continuously shoot at eight frames per second.

The images have yet to be confirmed by Nikon. Pricing and possible launch dates also remain unknown.

It's simple, video cameras are for video, and DSLR's are for photos. I could care less if they incorporate video into my DSLR, I would rather have the company put better technology to facilitate making my photos better!

It's fine if the little kiddie Point and shoots have video, their snapshot cameras, but for a semi-pro DSLR to have video!? What's next, the D3XV (D3X-Video), for Christ's sake! In my opinion they are simply addig it to keep up with the Jones'.
