iPhone exec leaves Apple
An executive central to Apple's marketing efforts has left the company, says the Wall Street Journal. Bob Borchers -- formerly the senior director of worldwide product marketing for the iPhone -- is joining the venture capital firm Opus Capital, where he will serve as a general partner. Although describing Apple as "amazing," Borchers says he was lured by an opportunity to work on investments in mobile technologies.
Particular interest lays with the "white spaces" of the mobile world, according to Borchers, such as wireless and medicine, and mobile marketing. Though having only four partners, Opus is also said to have over $1 billion in committed capital, which may give it unusual clout.
Borchers has worked with Apple since 2004, contributing various efforts to both the iPod and the iPhone; prior to arriving at the company, he served as an executive with Nokia and Nike. Many iPhone users may recognize Borscher from the company's original Guided Tour videos for the iPhone, in which the executive demonstrated basics of using the device.

money vs passion
One firm walking around with $1 Billion in the white space debate is a little disconcerting to me.
Keep an eye on him Steve!
