Sony Ericsson bows T715 slider with US 3G, metal

updated 08:05 am EDT, Thu June 25, 2009

Sony Ericsson T715

Sony Ericsson in a quiet launch has revealed the T715. The slider is aimed at the upper mid-range with 3G over HSPA, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a partly aluminum shell. Although it doesn't have fully independent GPS, the phone ships preloaded with Google Maps for basic navigation and will geotag photos. AccuWeather and YouTube apps are also onboard.

Like some of Sony Ericsson's newest phones, the T715 drops Sony's Memory Stick Micro storage format for the more ubiquitous microSD, though no card is bundled in the box. Shipments start in the summer and will include a version with North America-native 3G, suggesting a carrier launch in Canada (through Rogers) or the US (through AT&T).

    Yawn

Yawn Sony Erricson did things well with the 580... aside from the cracking keys. They haven't come out with anything but evolutions on that same design, their phones look nice but we don't sell many anymore since people looking for nice phones get iPhones and BlackBerries.
