Boris FX has released the full version of Boris Continuum Complete 6 AVX. The plug-in adds nearly 200 filters to video and film editing programs such as Final Cut Pro, Motion, and Adobe After Effects. The software is based on the Avid video editing and finishing architecture, and as such supports Avid Media Composer, NewsCutter and Symphony. The upgrade provides 15 new filters including Extruded Text, Cartoon Look, Lightning, and Swish Pan.
Among the new effects are several image-restoration filters such as DV Fixer, Smooth Tone, and Pixel Fixer. The upgrade also adds a number of image painting filters: Charcoal Sketch, Pencil Sketch, Water Color, and Cartoon Look. OpenGL filters include Lightning and Title Mosaic, while the 3D text generator is also OpenGL-accelerated. Text objects can also be altered using Bend, Taper, Twist, Shatter, Ripple, Pulse, or Curl effects.
The plug-in utilizes Custom Animated Presets to animate filters in Adobe After Effects and transfer the content to the Avid timeline without altering keyframes. The feature enables users to save and reuse parameter animations in each filter, even across platforms. The plug-in also offers an Extruded Spline tool that is used to create 3D extruded objects utilizing bevels and spline-based extrusion profiles.
Boris Continuum Complete 6 AVX is immediately available from the Boris FX online store for $1995. Registered users of previous versions of Boris Continuum Complete can upgrade to the new version for $600.
