Sanyo outs two projectors

At the currently ongoing Infocomm show, Sanyo toda yshowed off a high-brightness LCD projector, the PDG-DET100L, as well as the PLC-WTC500L DLP projector. The former reportedly has the highest brightness rating in its class, at 7,500 lumens, and offers a 1400x1050 native resolution. The PDG-DET100L can also be used in the medical field, as it has a DICOM Simulation Mode that projects X-rays.

To reduce the amount of upkeep needed for the projectors, both sport dual lamps; the PDG-DET100L equipped with two 330W lamps. Sanyo's two-color wheel system is also present, allowing users to choose between a wheel suited for higher brightness and another meant for rich color reproduction. It has a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 7,500:1 contrast ratio. There is an HDCP-compatible DVI-D port along with one each of HDMI 1.3, analog RGB, and S-video. Otherwise, there is an Ethernet jack, a USB service jack and a 3.5mm connector for a wired remote controller.

The PLC-WTC500L has a 1280x800 resolution and a brightness of 5,000 lumens, along with a 3,000:1 contrast ratio. The dual-lamp system extends its estimated life to 6,000 hours of operation before a swap is needed. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio, and foregoes the DVI-D connection in favor of a PJ Net organizer connector for an adapter that allows remote management.

Both models have the same picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes, a 10-filter roller that automatically switches to clean media and keystone correction for both horizontal and vertical imagery.

Both the PDG-DET100L and PLC-WTC500L will ship later in June, with prices set at $14,995 and $6,995, respectively.
