Interiors Pro update
Microspot has released an update to its 3D-modeling application for interior and product designers, Interiors Professional 4.1. The latest version includes tools that allow users to edit walls from any view. The height, thickness, position and length can be adjusted. Floor plans can be imported from other CAD programs, providing an outline to draw the walls and quickly create a 3D scaled model. After the walls are established, the plan can be removed before adding doors, windows and floors.
A vertex editing tool now allows users to subdivide and split surface geometries, adjust elasticity and edit single or multiple surface vertices. The added capabilities enable complex surface editing, expanding the range of available shapes from the previous version. A new 'Bounds' tool allows users to add open windows or doors, overhanging sills and bow windows.
The placement of floors and ceilings has also been improved to allow each room to have a different texture. Users simply select the outer wall of the room and select the required action, with automatic placement of floors and ceilings.
The company also expanded the library, which now includes over 2000 items such as furniture or electronic goods. New cuboid tools can be used to create cubes with chamfered or rounded edges, with controls over the chamfer radius. Texture handling is claimed to be improved, leading to faster processing on many systems.
Interiors Professional 4.1 carries a retail price of $250, while registered users of Version 4.0 can upgrade for $55. Customers can also upgrade from the standard edition for $112.
