Mailit 4 plug-in released
Dracons has released an update to its e-mail plug-in, Mailit 4. The software is used to extend FileMaker's text messaging capabilities, enabling management of e-mail content. The update can retrieve e-mail messages using the IMAP protocol, and is designed to handle simultaneous outgoing messages. V4 can also attach any kind of container-field data types such as images, video or FileMaker layouts.
HTML messages, including inline images, can be previewed using the FileMaker Web Viewer or a web browser. The update also converts FileMaker rich text into HTML code and allows the code to be modified. Download history for POP3 accounts can be stored in a FileMaker field, allowing groups of people to share the history over a network and avoid duplicate downloads.
Mailit 4 requires FileMaker 7 and can be purchased directly from the company for $60. Users of Mailit 3 can upgrade for $35.
