Dev Team iPhone 3.0 unlock
The unofficial iPhone Dev Team, best known for its yellowsn0w hack, has announced plans to demonstrate a new unlock for the iPhone 3.0 firmware. Although public downloads of iPhone 3.0 are only scheduled to open on June 17th, a live feed of the unlocking demo is expected sometime later on the 16th. Interested viewers must follow MuscleNerd through Twitter to learn the time and URL for the presentation.
The rapid arrival of yellowsn0w for the upgraded firmware may suggest an absence of new security measures, at least since earlier developer builds. The Dev Team adds that it is also testing updated PwnageTool and QuickPwn hacks, which should work with iTunes 8.2. Jailbreaking a device with iPhone 3.0 is already said to be possible, thanks to the existing Pwnage 2.0 technique.
