MSI X600 specs revealed

MSI's flagship X-Slim series notebook, the MSI X600, has received specs for two of its variations today through a new leak. The company has previously only released teasers of the specifications for the notebook PC, which is meant to compete with the MacBook Air. The 15.6-inch notebook sports a 1366x768 resolution and is powered by Intel's CULV platform, in a package that is less than one-inch thick.

There will be a version powered by a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Solo and 4GB of RAM. It offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an Ethernet connection and has a 500GB hard drive. Another variation comes with a 1.2GHz Intel Celeron CPU and makes do with 3GB of RAM. Its hard drive is also smaller, at 320GB, and it foregoes Bluetooth.

Both versions share the same ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics chipset with 512MB of VRAM and an HDMI output. Other common connections include a VGA port, three USB jacks, an Ethernet port and the requisite headphone and microphone jacks. A webcam is preloaded and all are preloaded with Windows Vista Home Premium. The X600s have memory card readers, full-size keyboards with numeric keypads and 6-cell lithium-polymer batteries. All weigh the same 4.6lbs.

Available in black or silver, the MSI X600 will become available for purchase in Italy at the end of June, with the 1.4GHz models priced at the equivalent of $1,320, while the 1.2GHz X600 will cost $1,120. It should eventually reach the US. [via NotebookItalia]
