Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go

Virgin Mobile USA on Wednesday announced it will soon offer a pre-paid 3G Internet access service called Broadband2Go. Users will need to buy a Novatel MC760 USB modem, which will access the web via Sprint's EV-DO Revisoin A network. The modem plugs into the USB ports on Mac, Windows, or Linux computers and has an internal dual-band diversity antenna with an option for an external antenna for better performance in remote areas. There is also a microSDHC slot in the modem that allows users to add as much as 16GB of storage.

To keep track of their usage, customers can access a real-time usage monitor that has a simpler "Remaining Megabytes of Use" display.

The MC760 modem will be available for purchase solely at Best Buy Mobile in late June for $150, while data rates are fixed at $10 for 100MB, $20 for 250MB, $40 for 600MB and $60 for 1GB. If not used up, the $10 bundle expires 10 days after purchase, while the others have a 30-day lifespan. There are no associated activation fees or roaming charges for the service.

    Not Mac compatible

The website says "The Broadband2Go software is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista." See here:
Where does it say it's Mac-compatible?

    Expiration times

That super-short expiration time is a deal-killer for me--30 days is ridiculous, let alone 10. Basically, you have to anticipate exactly when you'll have a need for a bunch of uses.
