iPhone apps: yogacardz, Twiddle, A Business Tycoon

  • yogacardz ($1) includes information on 101 different yoga poses. Each position has its own card which includes a photo of the pose and step by step instructions for properly performing the pose. Many cards also include modification options for slight variations on the pose. The application also includes a Practices component which includes a dozen different exercise routines that are accompanied by relaxing music.

  • Twiddle ($1) is a game where players must keep a ball in play using multiple paddles. In between the two paddles are blocks that can have different effects on the gameplay. Twiddle currently includes 12 different block types but plan to add new variations in future updates. The game includes 10 different levels along with several Boss Challenges to complete. High scores are saved and can be viewed locally or compared to scores around the world, or within a country.

  • A Business Tycoon ($2) puts players in the role of an business tycoon with a starting capital of $10 million. Players then need to make different decisions in hopes of raising their capital. As players earn more money they can begin participating in share trading and will also begin to unlock new luxury items. The game features endless gameplay and the only way to unlock all items is to continually raise capital.

  • DriveSaver (free) is a simulation of the inner workings of a standard hard drive. Users can view different areas of the hard drive and it also can simulate common failures such as electrical failures. DriveSaver also includes a list of do's and dont's for recovering data from a failing drive.

  • HazelMail Postcards (free) is a tool for designing postcards on an iPhone or iPod touch. Users can import their own photos and add personalize messages the choose any address in the world to send it to. Postcards are then be purchased through the application and they will be printed and mailed by the company.
