SmartMask update

Akvis has released SmartMask 2.5, an update to its image selection and masking plug-in. The latest version features enhanced eyedropper tools with greater flexibility, along with improved support for Photoshop CS3/CS4 on Mac systems. The company also added French and Porgugese localization options for the interface language.

SmartMask is designed to save time on complex projects, using virtual red and blue pencils. Users simply draw a blue line inside the object being selected, and then draw a red line around the outside to define which portion of the image should be removed. A selection algorithm analyzes the image and removes the selection, with three unique modes geared for different types of images.

Akvis SmartMask can be purchased for $120, while registered users of earlier versions can upgrade for free. Each license permits activation on two computers.
