Rogers 15GB Docs Leak

Rogers' 15GB data plan gained evidence today through the posting of a sales guide for the company. As anticipated, the plan is due to become available on June 16th for $150. According to iPhoneInCanada, the telecoms firm intends to pitch the plan mostly to those using its Rocket Stick (3G USB modem) very often but also to smartphone owners who tend to use very data-intensive apps.

The plan should also apply to iPhones; unlike in the US where customers can only choose from pre-packaged iPhone plans, Rogers allows combining separate voice and data with Apple's handset.

Rogers' upcoming plan is equally rare in North America for allowing more than 5GB of data transfer per month without incurring by-the-megabyte overage fees. American providers like AT&T and Sprint often charge less for their 5GB plans but don't have any alternatives for more frequent users.

    Looking at that chart, the tiering looks pretty reasonable, how you bump up from one tier to another as you exceed different thresholds. Maybe Rogers isn't as bad as I thought.

    Of course, the chart doesn't mention the $70 you'd have to pay a month for the phone side of things.
