TechSmith intros Jing Pro

TechSmith has released Jing Pro, a new version of its screen capture and recording application. Users can add screen-captured images and videos to online conversations, through links in e-mail and instant messages as well as online forums. The Pro version allows sending video postcards, switching back and forth between screen and webcam video, and recording video greetings.

Pro also enables HD-quality screencasts for the web, and removes the Jing logos and links from the beginning and end of newly-recorded clips. Screenshots can be edited in Snagit, and screencasts edited in Camtasia Studio, the latter of which can stitch together several smaller videos, or connect a series through a table of contents.

Jing Pro is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4.9 or higher, and priced at $15 a year. Both the regular and Pro versions include a free Screencast.com account that offers 2GB of storage and 2GB of monthly bandwidth.
