In brief: MyService, an Apple certified repair company, has announced that it is now offering overnight repairs for both the first and second generation iPod touch. Depending on the repair the price can go from $99 up to $199 and includes a free diagnostics and covers all shipping costs. Mac gamers can now find games for their computers at GamersGate.com. The company has updated its online store and now includes a new Mac game section along with sever new social tools. Meanwhile, Zevrix has released a new beta version of its LinkOptimzier software. The software is designed to help streamline the editing process by eliminating manual optimization.

MyService has announced that it is now offering overnight repairs for the first and second generation iPod touch. The company is generally able to fix damage such as cracked screens, liquid damage and power issues and can generally finish the repair in under 24 hours. MyService emails the customer an overnight UPS shipping label at the time of the repair request. As soon as the defective device is received an Apple certified technician performs a free diagnostic and then installs any necessary new parts. After the service is complete the iPod is cleaned, tested and sent back. The cost of repairing the LCD is $99, while a Digitizer (the front glass) costs $109 to repair. A discount is also offered for customers who desire to replace both the LCD and Digitizer, this options costs $199.

GamersGate has launched a new online store which features Mac compatible games. The stores launch features several popular titles including The Sims 3, Spore, Flatout 2, World of Goo, and more. A brand new site has been launched and along with the addition of Mac games also includes several new social aspects, including profiles, internal messaging and a "Game Tutor" program. Theodore Bergquist, CEO of GamersGate, has been following the increasing popularity of Mac based gaming and believes that this new addition will help the company meet its goal of offering a "solution for all gamers."

A new public beta version of LinkOptimizer 4 has been released by Zevrix Solutions. The application allows users to reduce the size of InDesign jobs and increase processing speed by eliminating excessive data. LinkOptimizer reduces, scales and crops images in Photoshop, according to their dimensions in the InDesign document and the specified target resolution, and then re-imports the files back into InDesign. This is supposed to help save hard drive and backup space, increase printing and exporting speed, and simplify the editing process by removing the need for manual optimizations.This new beta release includes over 20 new features such as image format conversion, link preview, process logs and resolution oversampling. The beta is a 4.8MB download and is intended for testing purposes only.
