Apps: pulpTunes, DiscLabel, Cover Stream

  • pulpTunes 1.1 (free) allows users to access their iTunes collection remotely through a web browser. After installing the software users will be provided with an IP address that will allow them to access their music from any web browser. pulpTunes supports MP3 and AAC files and allows users to download the tracks from the web browser interface. Version 1.1 has introduced a performance boost for large music libraries and a new search function. The update also includes the ability to rate songs and has renamed "Party Shuffle" to "iTunes DJ" mimicking the name change in iTunes 8.1. [Download - 4MB]

  • DiscLabel 6.0 ($36) is a tool for creating, printing and sharing CD labels, jewel case inserts and DVD covers. It works along with iTunes and iPhoto to automatically import media information that was just burned to a CD or photos. The new release includes 80 new templates and a simplified interface for creating new designs and selecting templates. The inspector and image import palettes have also been updated with new options for inserting and editing images. [Download - 23.1MB]

  • Cover Stream 2.6 ($21) allows users to access Cover Flow outside of iTunes in a floating window. The software can filter playlists and run keyword searches, as well as run in a full-screen mode, which supports control with Apple's IR remote. Version 2.6 includes a new status bar icon popup control panel and a Feedback Reporter. The update has also improved podcast support, updated the launcher utility, and fixed several minor bugs.   • ReelBean 4.2 ($15) can be used to convert movies to Apple TV, video iPod MPEG4, H.264, AVI and other formats. The software also includes several media playing features that allow users to view media files within the application. A bug that could cause the softwares update process to freeze has been fixed in the new version. The preferences toolbar has also been adjusted with standard size buttons and text.   • myDocuments 1.6 ($12) is a tool for grouping related documents together. Documents can be sorted into different projects marked with various tags and comments. Groups of documents can also be converted into ZIP archives that include a text file which contains additional information and a listing of all the files included in the archive. Along with various small bug fixes and performance enhancements the update also includes a new German localization. [Download - 3.5MB]
