JOTOMO iPhone app released

JOTOMI has released its second iPhone application, JMDictate, which can be used to record voice messages. The software features a voice-activation system that automatically removes silence from recorded tracks. Dictations can be paused, rewound, or edited anywhere in a track. Users can share recordings via e-mail, MobileMe, FTP servers, while content can also be directly downloaded to a computer. For multilingual users, the interface supports UTF8 characters in e-mails.

All web-based sharing is automatically communicated using SSl/TLS encryption. When sending via e-mail, records are submitted directly from the iPhone to avoid intermediate servers. Dictations are recorded in WAV format for compatibility with existing transcription applications.

JMDictate is available from the App Store for $10.
