SS-439 Pro Turbo NAS ships

QNAP Systems has released the latest addition to the Turbo NAS series, the SS-439 Pro Turbo. The data-server unit consists of four 2.5-inch SATA hard drives that utilize Intel's Atom platform, with 256-bit AES encryption and disk-on-module technologies designed to help minimize the size of the unit and keep data secure. The device is designed to save energy, operating on about 18W. The product also provides three USB 2.0 ports and two eSATA ports for storage capacity expansion or backup systems.

The unit includes QPKG software that enables users to integrate additional applications to the NAS, such as mail servers. Users can also attach up to four IP-based cameras for office network surveillance.

The QNAP SS-439 Pro Turbo NAS is immediately available and can be purchased for $800.
