SoftBank 10MP camera phone

SoftBank has recently showed off this high-end camera phone, the Sharp 933SH AQUOS Shot. It not only sports a 10-megapixel camera but has an extremely high ISO sensitivity range, at up to 12,800, for capturing images in low-light environments without blur. The camera functions are accessed via a 3.3-inch, 854x480 rotating LCD touchscreen that is mounted on a two-axis hinge. Continuous autofocusing is also built in, and touching a subject on the screen will result in it always staying in focus, even if it moves.

Otherwise, up to five faces can be recognized by the software, and there is an LED flash as well as a vibration reduction function. There is an automatic scene selection feature, as well as 36 manual settings. A continuous shooting mode is also present, with all photos saved to up to 16GB microSDHC memory cards.

The handset's more pedestrian features start with an accelerometer that switches screen orientation. There is a small OLED exterior display, sized at 0.8 inches and sporting a 96x16 resolution. There is a built-in dictionary and one accessible over the Internet. The HSDPA handset has tri-band GSM and Bluetooth support. There is a GPS sensor, a web browser, a 1Seg TV receiver and mobile wallet functionality.

Available colors include black, white, blue, white and pink. The Aquos Shot is due for a release late in May through SoftBank, though no pricing information has been announced. [via Impress]
