iPhone apps: Pickin' Stix, iFlash Touch, Bed Bugs

  • Pickin' Stix ($1) is a adaptation of the classic Pick-Up-Sticks game for the iPhone and iPod touch. The game is played by using the touch screen to chose sticks from a pile. Players score points by grabbing sticks from the top of a pile and lose points for choosing ones that are underneath others. The game also includes a timer so players can see how quickly they can reach their top score.

  • iFlash Touch (free) is a companion application for the iFlash on the Mac desktop software. It allows users to export their card decks to their iPhone or iPod touch and study they while on the go. iFlash Touch includes several study settings including an option to shuffle cards and an option to randomize which side of the card is displayed.

  • Bed Bugs ($2) is a game where users must protect a sleepwalker from waking up. In order to protect the sleep walker players have to keep him away from different types of bed bugs. There are a total of 28 unique bugs and each of them need to be handled in certain ways. All of the actions are performed using the touch screen and including holding, tapping, and flicking.

  • TheTumbler ($3) allows users to post and view the posts of their followers on Tumblr. The application includes several features for posting blog entries including the ability to set a default tumblelog to post to. TheTumbler also allows users of the Disqus comment system to moderate comments from within the application.

  • Disneyland Park Guide Notescast ($1) is a vacation planner and in-park guide that covers most of the attractions at Disneyland. The guide includes over 120 pages that cover categories including Hotels, Parking, Hours, and Tours. The guide is strictly text based and has been designed to help new or infrequent visitors find their way around.
