My Living Desktop 4

Amuse has introduced My Living Desktop 4, an update to its video desktop and screen saver utility, Serene Saver Pro. The software can be used to replace the standard still desktop with a moving wallpaper that plays high-definition movies that the user chooses. A built-in video importer allows a variety of content to be featured in customized moving backgrounds. Users also receive over three-dozen high-definition movies shot from all around the world, with each accompanied by sounds of the natural setting.

Automatic serenity breaks can be set to remind users to take pause their work, with options to mute the program sounds when a music player is launched. Users simply enter a specific time interval, which is announced with a chime as work on the screen fades into the background and a scene begins to play. The utility is also capable of recognizing when a laptop is running on battery power and will disable itself to conserve power if necessary.

My Living Desktop 4 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, and available with a single-user license for $35 or a five-user license for $50.
