Dictate 1.5 released

MacSpeech Inc. has released v1.5 of its MacSpeech Dictate software application. The program enables hands-free control over any Mac, instead using spoken commands. MacSpeech Dictate 1.5 claims to recognize speech 20 percent more accurately than its predecessor and includes a new profile option to help identify with multiple accents such as Inland North American, Southern North American, and Latino North American.

The company also noted that Microsoft Word is more compatible with MacSpeech Dictate 1.5, now including as automatic Cache Document feature that allows MacSpeech Dictate to read the document. This is done so it can both navigate the document better, as well as to enter and edit text.

Version 1.5 also adds the ability to train esoteric and unusual words. Additionally, MacSpeech Dictate 1.5 includes 100 new websites with the "Jump To" command options as well as incorporates a new Save Profile menu item, used to capture Phrase Training information before closing MacSpeech Dictate.

MacSpeech Dictate 1.5 requires Mac OS X 10.5.6. It is available from the MacSpeech website for $200.
