TouchCAD 3.6 update
Lundström Design has introduced TouchCAD 3.6, said to be a significant update to the company's Mac and Windows 3D modeling suite. Design in the software is geared towards producing physical models, with extra emphasis on some unusual applications such as ship design, or softer structures like tents, awnings and inflatable objects. Major changes in v3.6 include drafting functions, and support for shaded surfaces.
Text can now be inserted in either 2D or 3D form, while measurement lines can now be toggled on in the 3D editor. A series of new contextual menus reduces the number of tool changes needed, and support has been improved for standards such as STL, DXF and DXF-AAMA. Designers can also help guide other viewers through a project by inserting arrows, dots and cross lines.
Prices for TouchCAD are available only through Lundström or its resellers.
