In brief: A new guide for iPhoto '09 has been release by two columnists from The New York Times. iPhoto '09: The Missing Manual includes information on how to use the new features found in iPhoto '09 such as Faces and Places. A Middle Eastern Apple magazine will now be expanding its publication. Shufflegazine began in October 2008 and was available in the United Arab Emirates but the publisher will now be making it more available across the GCC. Meanwhile, TEKSERVE has release the ninth edition of its Mac FAQ pocket guide. The guide includes troubleshooting tips for problems such as kernel panics and freezing. Customers can order the book by phone for $5 or pick it up in the store for free.

David Pogue and J.D. Biersdorfer, columnists for The New York Times, have teamed up to create a book that shows readers how to use some of iPhoto's features. iPhoto '09: The Missing Manual includes guides on using some of the new additions to iPhoto, including face recognition, location recognition, photo uploading, and customizable travel maps. The book begins by offering suggestions on how to organize a large collection of photos by using Events, Albums and Faces. Users can then learn about how to use the editing features included in iPhoto for enhancing their images. The guides include information on all of the available tools and the more advanced adjustments palette. Users are shown how to share their photos using slideshows, calendars, and publishing to sites like Flickr, Facebook and MobileMe. The book is available in print for $35 or as an e-book for $28.

CERTIMETERCUBE has announced that it will be expanding the printing and distribution of Shufflegazine, an Apple magazine available in the Middle East. The magazine covers news on Apple products such as Macs, iPods, and iPhones, and the lifestyle surrounding the use of these products in both a business and leisure setting. The magazine was launched in October 2008, mainly in the United Arab Emirates through retail outlets as well as complimentary distribution channels. The expansion will see the magazine more readily available around the GCC, including Saudi Arabia within the next few months.

TEKSERVE has released the ninth edition of its Mac FAQ guides and are offering it for free to customers who come out the TEKSERVE store at 119 West 23rd Street in Manhattan. The new edition includes tips on how to handle crashes, freezing, and kernal panics, along with instructions for data back up procedures with or without Time Machine, avoiding spam or viruses, and sharing files with Windows PCs. The book has been kept small so that it can be portable and contains 58 pages of advice. The information is also available online at TEKSERVE's website or customers can order the book by calling 212-381-6300 for only $5
