updated 11:15 pm EDT, Mon May 11, 2009

Greenpeace App released

Greenpeace has launched an iPhone version of its Recycled Tissue and Toilet Paper Guide. The application aims to provide consumers with recycling information about tissue and toilet paper manufacturers, helping them make more environmentally conscious purchases. The application can compare household paper brands, listing brand specific information including recycling percentages and the use of chlorine products. The guide also rates each brand as "Recommended", "Avoid", or "They Can Do Better."

The Recycled Tissue and Toilet Paper Guide is available from the App Store for free.

    only tissue??!!

These folks can coordinate a hollywood-scale "greening" of Apple flagship stores, but all they can come up with for a recycle guide is "TISSUE"?
I was hoping for much better than this :(

    yes...

Because people with iPhones are buying tissues on an almost daily basis.

It could be worse. It could be a 'testudo recycling guide'.

    Good Start

    This is a good start!

It would be great to see them do one for household cleaning products!
