iPhone apps: Find a Bank, Die Hard, I Heart Concerts

  • Find a Bank ($1) uses the iPhone and iPod touch's built-in location services to locate the user and then provide them with information on all of the closest banks. Each entry includes a map and directions along with a phone number and link to the banks official website. Find a Bank also allows users to add their preferred banks to a favorites list for quick access to their specific information.

  • Die Hard ($1) is a game where the players aim is to keep their plane alive as long as possible. A constant stream of bullets stream across the screen forcing players to think about their path carefully. The game features multiple themes and a both a local and global ranking list.

  • I Heart Concerts ($2) is a tool for display all of the concerts that are happening within a 50 mile radius of the users location. The application shows all upcoming shows that will take place in the next two weeks and includes additional information on each band along with a map to the venue. Integration with the Last.fm iPhone application is also included allowing users to quickly switch from the bands info page to their Last.fm radio station.

  • traQmy.self (free) is a tool for tracking movement using the iPhone's GPS capabilities. It is capable of monitoring a users movement and then marking out the path that was travelled on a map. It also can provide additional feedback such as speed and time and allows users to upload their tracks to traqmy.com for sharing with friends or other users.

  • Slideshow Builder ($4) allows users to build slideshows directly on their iPhone or iPod touch. Photos can be imported from the users Photo Library or Camera Roll and then add transitions and music. The application includes 11 different transitions and also allows users to use the Ken Burns effect. Music can be imported via WiFi and then organized into multi-track playlists to match the length of the slideshow and music.
