LaCie DataShare storage

LaCie on Tuesday announced a new portable storage device, the DataShare. The device is designed to use standard SD and microSD memory cards. The red half provides a Push/Push connector that accepts a microSD card, while the larger SD card is inserted into the red half. Users can keep personal or protected data on one side, while shareable files can be placed on the other side.

The device supports transfer rates of up to 40Mbits/s, along with Mac or Windows operating systems. Each section is hot-swappable and works without drivers.

DataShare is now available directly from the company for $10. The package includes a USB extension cable, microSD to SD adapter and a strap for a keyring.
