Flash Optimizer 2.0 update
Eltima has released an update to its Flash compression utility, Flash Optimizer for Mac 2.3. The program compresses sounds by converting stereo to mono and lowering bitrates, while video is scaled back by shrinking bitrate and frame size. The current version reduces filesize up to 80 percent, and provides Flash 10 support, various interface improvements, and a new version of Flash'In'App.
Flash Optimizer relies on a process preview feature to help gauge proper compression settings, and an info button which shows clip details such as size in bytes and the percentage of shapes, pictures, sounds and videos. In total users receive more than 50 separate compression options, both predefined and customizable.
The software requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, and is priced at $100. All program upgrades within one major version are free.

Flash itself

Too bad it couldn't optimize the horribly inefficient and poorly implemented Mac version of Flash itself.
