Photoshop Marketplace gathers scattered resources

updated 11:35 am EDT, Fri April 24, 2009

Photoshop Marketplace open

Adobe has opened the Photoshop Marketplace, a website dedicated entirely to its image manipulation software. The site is designed as a central resource for education in using Photoshop, as well as listings of related events, and access to tools and services based on the platform. These include the numerous third-party plug-ins and extensions available.

The company is initially urging Marketplace partners to limit themselves to supplying "product-related content" which can be updated without Adobe's help. The site is nevertheless open to ratings and reviews by users, and should expand in phases to become more comprehensive. A fully functional site should launch sometime before the fall.
