Nokia 8208 shown at FCC

The Nokia 8208 slider handset is coming to North America after all, if a recent FCC test is any indication. The 2.2-inch, 240x320 display slides up to reveal a keypad and slides down to show off the music controls. The FCC paperwork confirms the phone will support EVDO Rev. A data networks that are more likely within the US.

The FCC report also confirms the handset has Bluetooth 2.0+EDR with support for A2DP as well as an FM radio. A 3-megapixel camera is visible in the photos, which has flash and video recording functionality. A 3.5mm headset jack is accounted for, while storage comes 150MB of internal space and can be added via microSDHC cards. The operating system is believed to be Symbian's S40, but this is not confirmed. Assisted GPS services may also be accessible via the 8208

In other markets, the handset ships bundled with a headset, 1GB microSD memory card and a PC sync cable, which could also apply to the North American version.

Neither Motorola nor any North American carrier has yet confirmed the handset is coming to this continent, so pricing and release dates can only be guessed at. Cricket and Verizon have been the most likely to carry Nokia's CDMA phones. [via Phone Scoop]
