CrossOver 8.0.0 beta 1

Codeweavers has published an initial public beta for CrossOver 8.0.0, an upcoming release of its virtualization software. Users are able to install and run a number of Windows applications from within Mac OS X, eliminating the need to dual-boot a system or confine Windows software to a single window. Selecting a Windows-only file in Finder triggers the appropriate program automatically.

In moving out of alpha, the beta 1 release has had several issues addressed in regards to Internet Explorer 7. Installation of the browser has been simplified, and the browser should now be more stable, including when browsing MLS websites. Photoshop CS2 is now said to behave "usefully," while Outlook has been scrubbed of an inactivity hang and a Print Preview crash. People interested in the beta must sign up at the Codeweavers website.

Looked on Macupdate after not finding it on the Crossover site. Definitely interested though. Great app for running Visio alone.

It's not really virtualization now is it? It would be nice to take a moment and explain what Crossover really is, which is an implementation of the Win32 API on the mac (or linux) platform.
