Media 100 Suite
Media 100 has introduced Media 100 Suite, a software package that offers multicam editing capabilities, a voice-over tool and Boris RED. The multicam editing feature can be used for real-time editing, while cameras can be added to an existing multiclip as their source media becomes available. Cameras can be synced via timecode and additional footage can be assigned to existing cameras.
The new voice-over tool can be used to apply audio recordings directly to the timeline while playing back audio and video. The feature is designed for recording narration, while still receiving real-time sound cues and visual feedback. Multiple narrators can be added to different channels, or dialogue can be inserted into live music tracks.
The suite also features improvements to Apple Color integration and support for 1080PsF video formats or QuickTime timecode tracks. Users can also export timecode burn-in, import 24-bit audio or output RP188 timecode with supported video cards.
The system now supports the Matrox MXO2 components for mobile input/output, monitoring and up/down/cross conversion. MXO2 is compatible with MacBook Pro and Mac Pro computer systems. Other compatible inputs include AJA's KONA 3X/3, KONA LH/LHe, KONA LS/LSe, Media 100 HDx, FireWire I/O and Panasonic P2.
Media 100 Suite will be available sometime in May for $1300. Customers can upgrade from Media 100 Version 10 and higher for $595.
