NT4E-STD Ethernet adapter
Napatech has unveiled the latest in its line of four-port, gigabit Ethernet network adapters for PCI Express, the NT4E-STD. Created as an enhanced PCIe version of the company’s XF adapter for PCI-X, the device is used for data capture and processing and the delivery of network data traffic to a host system. The adapter offers support for four Ethernet ports using either electrical or optical gigabit interfaces, as well as complete RMON1 standard support that enables the full offload of statistics collection from host CPUs.
Other enhancements in the NT4E-STD allow the use of multiple CPU cores via one to four host buffers, with individual statistics, and data burst buffering up to 4GB via support for additional DDR2 RAM. Fixed slicing functionality for payload discard has also been included. Pricing and compatibility for the NT4E-STD has yet to be published.
