Billion App Countdown
Apple has launched a new contest in order to encourage use of the App Store. Marking an upcoming download milestone, the Billion App Countdown asks participants to download any app in order to become eligible to win several prizes. These include a $10,000 iTunes gift card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule router and a MacBook Pro.
People participating must be 13 or older, and live anywhere in the US or one of the following regions: Columbia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland or the United Kingdom. Canadians are also eligible, with the exception of residents of Quebec. A form should allow entry into the contest without a download, but errors were encountered in early testing.
