KnowledgeMiner releases new data mining app for Mac

KnowledgeMiner for Excel
KnowledgeMiner in partnership with Intel and Microsoft, has released a new data mining application for the Mac, KnowledgeMiner (yX) for Excel. The software is used to find correlations or patters in dozens of fields in Excel spreadsheets, and according to the company, offers speeds more that 600-times faster then previously available. Written in Cocoa and Objective C, the program was designed for optimum efficiency on Intel Macs with multiple cores and additional memory for processing.
KnowledgeMiner (yX) for Excel works directly within Microsoft Excel and provides data delivery and analysis on various patterns, such as earth temperatures and CO2 in the atmosphere. The program also contains pre-modeled examples from a variety of application areas, providing several sample scripts for program-to-program communication, a sample KDD workflow AppleScript, TransformModel, and a business intelligence workflow case study.
To help new users understand the software and about data mining, KnowledgeMiner (yX) for Excel includes a PDF copy of the book “Self-Organising Data Mining: Extracting Knowledge from Data” by Professor J.-A Mueller and FranK Lemke. The program is available to purchase for $800, and requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later.
