Boxee releases API
Boxee has released an API and related documentation, enabling developers to create applications, such as Pandora or RadioTime, that can work with the open-source media player. The set of APIs is known as Python and developers can code the GUI using XML. Users will be able to install new apps via the boxee App Box, which is in the early stages of becoming a formal store.
The company does not intend on becoming a "gate keeper" by limiting which applications are published. Each publisher will create their own repository of hosted applications.
Along with the new API, boxee has added a developer section on the forum. Users can voice concerns, troubleshoot or recommend new features. Developers can also connect with each other to share information.

Python is a language
This is cool, but you misread their announcement.
You wrote "APIs is known as Python"
Python is a scripting language. What their text says is "using a set of API calls in Python."
