HP ships Pavillion dv2

HP has begun shipping its Pavillion dv2 notebooks that were announced at CES in January. The dv2 is set to content against ultra-thin products such as the MacBook Air, with a profile measuring just under an inch thick. The notebook features a magnesium-aluminum alloy case and a 12.1-inch LED BrightView display. An AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor runs at 1.6GHz and is designed to optimize power consumption, while the company was able to integrate standard hard drives and still keep the weight below four pounds.

The dv2 also features a 320GB SATA hard drive and memory capacities up to 4 GB. Graphics are provided by a dedicated Radeon HD 3410 GPU which is capable of HD video playback.

The Pavillion dv2 is now available, with prices starting at $750 and moving up depending on hardware configuration.
