AKVIS Sketch 8.6 update
AKVIS has released an update to Sketch, its photo conversion utility for Mac and Windows systems. The software operates either as a standalone or a plug-in, and uses filters to render photos as pencil, charcoal or watercolor images. Finished conversions can be blended with untouched photos or blurred to simulate motion or depth-of-field.
The v8.6 patch of the software is said to improve the technique used in watercolor conversion, and introduce 32-bit image support for the plug-in, beyond just the standalone application. The plug-in has additionally been changed to fix a crash bug, triggered by using it with Photoshop CS3 or CS4. Sketch costs $72, and in plug-in form is compatible with Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Paint Shop Pro and a number of other editing suites.
