XML Author 3 update
Quark has announced XML Author 3, the latest version of its XML authoring tool that enables users to create XML content within Microsoft Word. Standing as a core component of Quark Dynamic Publishing software, the application provides both creation and editing tools for making XML content. Features in the update add support for Microsoft Word 2007 and Windows Vista, toolbar improvements, and new integration with Design Science’s Math Type Editor for equations.
The toolbar improvements are designed for use with the Microsoft Office 2007 native ribbon interface. In addition, other new features now allow users to make bulk changes throughout a document, and advanced capabilities for indenting and styling list-items and paragraphs. Lastly, the update includes more support to enable localized user interfaces for English, French, German and Japanese.
XML Author 3 is backward compatible with Microsoft Office 2000-2007, and works with Quark XML Author 2.10 files. The upgrade is available automatically to all current users and is planned to be released on April 30th. Pricing information has yet to be given.
