HTC Magic at FCC for T-Mob
The FCC has inadvertently confirmed T-Mobile's plans to bring the HTC Magic to the US as its second Android phone. A filing at the US agency shows the phone with T-Mobile's US logo and also points to a feature upgrade. The Americanized version now gets a 5-megapixel camera (up from 3.2) while preserving access to 7.2Mbps 3G, this time on T-Mobile's 1,700MHz band.
Most other aspects are familiar, such as the presences of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Cosmetically, the phone has slightly different buttons but has the same core layout, including a trackball and a dependence on Android's upcoming touchscreen-only keyboard for input. It's suspected the Wi-Fi link will gain support for T-Mobile's HotSpot Calling.
Rumors have previously circulated that the phone will launch as the G2 next month. [via CellphoneSignal]
