iPhone apps: Unlike Guide, Health Cubby, HumorDb

  • Unlike Global Guide ($20) includes travel guides for Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, Miami, Paris, Sao Paulo, Shanghai and Vienna. The guides can point users to places of interest that are close to their current location. To accommodate users that may be traveling the guides are all stored within the application allowing users to access the information even when no internet connection is available.

  • Health Cubby ($10) is a tool that can help users set simple and realistic weight, cardio and strength training goals. Users can also team up with up to seven friends via Health Cubby's online sync and track each others progress. The application also tracks a users weight and can display it as a percentage of their long term goal if they are shy about it.

  • HumorDb (free) gives users access to the humordb.com collection of jokes on their iPhone or iPod touch. The "Humors of the Day" section is updated daily and readers votes are used to determine the top jokes of the hour and day. The application also includes filter settings for filtering out the edgier jokes.

  • GrayCard ($1) simulates various light temperatures and types on the iPhone or iPod Touch screen, and allows users to adjust the white balance to achieve different photographic effects. The interface provides options for choosing how the scene is lit by choosing either Daylight/Flash or Tungsten lighting and different warm or cool levels.

  • Cleartune ($4) is a chromatic tuner and pitch pipe for the iPhone and iPod touch. The application features an A4 calibration that can be adjusted in 0.1 Hz increments. Cleartune also features selectable temperaments, notations and tone waveform.
