Mac, iPhone PCalc updates
Developer TLA has updated its two parallel versions of PCalc, for the iPhone and for Mac OS X. Both serve as advanced scientific calculators, with multiple layouts and computation modes. The iPhone version has been given a new engineering layout, containing buttons for functions like the hypotenuse, delta percentage and hyperbolic trigonometry. Another theme has been imported from the Mac software, and six new button sounds have been added. The scaled-down PCalc Lite for iPhone has been given two of the new sounds and a few unspecified enhancements.
The Mac edition now contains all of the themes from the iPhone application, and is complemented by an updated Dashboard widget that restores copy/paste. The widget also introduces a host of new unit conversions, such as a group related to cooking. The Mac software is priced at $20 and runs on Mac OS X 10.4.2 or better; PCalc Lite is free, while the main iPhone PCalc costs $10.
