LANrev 5.1 adds iPhone management, more

updated 01:10 pm EDT, Wed March 25, 2009

LANrev 5.1 now available

LANrev has launched LANrev 5.1, an update to the systems lifecycle suite that adds iPhone management support, on-demand software installation for users and enhanced power management reporting. The new version also adds better Help Desk integration, customized branding for client software distributions, and client versions localized for French, German and Spanish. The new "iPhone/iPod Touch Devices" window in LANrev 5.1 shows both hardware and software iPhone inventory.

LANrev automates patch and software distribution, provides power management and tracks asset inventory. It also offers license monitoring and control of security configurations. The principal software works on Mac OS X 10.4 or later, though client machines require only Mac OS X 10.3.9. Prices are available only from the company; support for older Macs running back to Mac OS X 10.2 demands an earlier edition of the suite.
