Shuttle outs X50 AIO PC

Shuttle on Wednesday released its X50 all-in-one PC from its Shuttle X Vision value line. It was first showed off at this year's CES show in Las Vegas. The 15.6-inch PC sports a 1366x768 resolution and can be hung on a wall like a picture frame thanks to its built-in handle that doubles as a stand. That stand can be removed, revealing a VESA mount. The X50 forgoes a keyboard -- though one can be connected -- and relies instead on a touchscreen interface.

Processing power for the 1.4-inch thick, sub-8lb X50 comes from Intel's dual-core 1.6GHz Atom CPU, paired with 1GB of RAM. Windows XP Home is pre-loaded onto the 160GB hard drive. Helping with the interface is an integrated stylus with its own sleeve, while a built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam allows for video chats or capturing still images.

Shuttle estimates thatthe system draws just 30W of power and emits only 22dB of noise thanks to its ICE heat pipe cooling system.

Connections include five USB ports, a gigabit Ethernet port, VGA output and the usual sound inputs and outputs. A 4-in-1 card reader is also integrated. Unfortunately, Shuttle has not named pricing for the X Vision X50, though from what was heard at CES should be in the $500 range.
