iPhone update video

Following a preview of the upcoming iPhone 3.0 firmware, Apple has posted a QuickTime stream of the event. The software will feature over 100 new features, along with over 1,000 new APIs that developers can use to further expand app capabilities. A number of long-awaited functions are finally coming to the handset, such as copy-and-paste, push notifications and support for turn-by-turn GPS.

The company also added new purchasing options, allowing subscriptions in addition to the current system that only allows a single transaction for the initial download. Customers can also purchase extra features or content from within the apps.
