iPhone apps: Word Twiddle, Backdrops, Video Safe

Compounds, BMW Z4

  • Word Twiddle ($2) includes over 53,000 words that have been broken down into lists that compliment each other are supposed to help stimulate different ideas. Users can choose to display from one to three different words and pick a different category for each word. The application includes over 50 lists such as "Actions," "Motion," "Social" and "Thinking."

  • Backdrops ($2) is a collection of photographs and digital artwork that have been formated as wallpaper for an iPhone or iPod touch. The images have been organized by date, popularity, color, scene, location and artist, or users can choose to randomly view an image. Each image also includes the artist and a brief description about the piece of art.

  • Video Safe ($4) allows users to create a password protected area to store their videos. Videos can be imported into this secure area wirelessly from any web browser on a computer and then sorted according to subject matter. The application also includes all the features of Picture Safe allowing pictures to securely store their photos as well.

  • Compounds ($2) is a lab tool that can solve stoichiometry calculations. In place of the standard keyboard, formulas are entered using the Periodic Table. Compound displays moles, grams, and molar weight for each compound and also includes a visual representation of the problem to help remove confusion of unit and multiple compounds.

  • BMW Z4- An Expression of Joy (free) starts with users customizing their own BMW Z4 which they can then use to create works of art. After setting up their car users can select various paint colors and drive around a canvas and draw pictures using the wheels of their car. Users can select from several different camera angles including an overview, following the car and in the drivers seat.
