EVE Online: Apocrypha
As planned, CCP has released EVE Online: Apocrypha, the 10th free expansion to its science-fiction MMO. The expansion centers around the appearance of unstable wormholes, connecting to unexplored regions of space; players gain access to a new level of technology for ship creation, plus a new tutorial when starting out. Coinciding with the debut is the re-release of the main game to retail stores.
The wormholes provide gamers with a variety of new threats, as well as a 41 percent larger game universe. Other features of the expansion include an upgraded sound engine, and new animations for almost every effect. Players also receive a newly-designed skill queue, and a Neural Remapping option which lets players readjust stats. For Mac users, CCP says it is dividing clients into Premium Graphics and Premium Lite downloads.
EVE Online is available both via download and retail. Monthly fees are associated.
