TextSoap 6.1 update
Unmarked software has released an update to its text processing utility, TextSoap 6.1. The program works as an editor that can be used to selectively replace words or copy formatting throughout a document. The update features new textsoapAgent scripting that allows access to core functions of TextSoap. Script users can now receive a list of groups and cleaners for a group, enabling the creation of custom user-interfaces with any Mac OS X scripting language. The update also adds new actions, more built-in groups and a Speak Text toolbar button.
New actions can be used to get the leftmost, middle, and rightmost range of characters, or convert rich-text hyperlinks to plain text. The program also provides new automation options to specify text encoding when reading and writing files, and a function that allows users to toggle between rich text and plain text for both the clipboard workspace and text files. Lastly, the update offers over two dozen bug fixes and various minor improvements.
TextSoap 6.1 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 or later and available as a free update from version 6. Users with registered versions of TextSoap 4 or 5 can update for $25, while new customers can purchase the software for $40.
