EKS Otus DJ controller

Finnish company EKS has introduced the Otus, a DJ controller featuring an array of fully-mappable buttons, knobs and sliders. The device also offers an illuminated 7.5-inch jog wheel with physical and virtual sensitivity adjustments, along with a capacitive touchpad. The controls can be doubled using a colored layer-selection switch, with support for two virtual decks.

An aluminum frame is used for rigidity and protection during travel, while the corners terminate at four sharp feet that are designed to reduce vibrations and allow the controller to be placed directly over standard turntables. The smoked glass surface and feet can also be switched for a customized configuration.

The device integrates a 24-bit 6-channel audio interface, with support for 44.1kHz or 48kHz signals and providing frequency response from 4Hz to 24kHz. Two stereo RCA outputs are provided, along with two digital SPDIF connections and a headphone output.

The Otus is compatible with Mac, Windows and Linux operating systems, along with ASIO, Core Audio or any other software that supports MIDI learn. Customers currently can purchase the controller directly from the company for 650 Euros (~$830 USD). Shipments to distributors will begin sometime in the near future.
